IAUC 8184), which itself was at mag about 16.5. The new object is located at R.A. = 1h59m19s.96, Decl. = +18o59'42".1 (equinox 2000.0), which is 5".3 east and 45".9 south of the nucleus of NGC 772, and about about 37" southwest of SN 2003hl. H. Yamaoka, Kyushu University, reports that R-band images taken by K. Ayani, Bisei Astronomical Observatory (BAO), on Oct. 9.60 with BAO 1.01-m telescope show the new object at R about 16.0 and at position end figures 19s.92, 41".8. An image taken by Llapasset on Oct. 5.97 does not show SN 2003iq (limiting mag about 17.5). Additional magnitudes of SN 2003hl by Llapasset: Aug. 28.182, 16.6, Oct. 5.965, 16.8.
