Africa, reports his discovery of an apparent supernova (mag about 16.1 +/- 0.2) on unfiltered CCD images taken on Sept. 10.134 UT; confirming images on Sept. 12.133 show the new object at mag about 15.9 +/- 0.1). SN 2004ej is located at R.A. = 10 00 02.84, Decl. = -31o33'25".5 (equinox 2000.0), which is 38" west and 15" south of the nucleus of NGC 3095. Nothing is visible at this location on Monard's images from July 12.7 (limiting mag 18.0) and Aug. 3.7 (limiting mag 17.0), nor is anything visible on the Digitized Sky Survey (limiting red mag 20.5).
