Pugh and W. Li report the LOSS discovery of an apparent supernova on unfiltered KAIT images taken on Sept. 25.40 (mag about 17.0) and 26.38 UT (mag about 16.8). SN 2004er is located at R.A. = 2h36m59s.04, Decl. = -5 21'19".7 (equinox 2000.0), which is 7".3 east and 22".2 south of the nucleus of MCG -01-7-24. A KAIT image taken on Sept. 21.38 showed nothing at this position (limiting mag about 19.0).
