Li report the LOSS discovery of a variable star on unfiltered KAIT images taken on Aug. 8.50 (at mag 17.2) and 11.51 UT (mag 17.3). The new object is located at R.A. = 3h02m00s.47, Decl. = +41o34'34".1 (equinox 2000.0), which is 70".4 west and 62".0 south of the nucleus of UGC 2495. A KAIT image taken on 2004 Jan. 13.12 showed nothing at this position (limiting mag about 19.0).
