Sostero report the discovery of an apparent supernova (mag 16.7) on an unfiltered CCD frame taken with the Puckett Observatory 0.60-m automated supernova patrol telescope in Ellijay, GA, on Jan. 8.02 UT (and confirmed at mag 16.5 by G. Sostero on multiple frames taken on Jan. 8.70 with a 0.45-m reflector near Udine, Italy). The new object is located at R.A. = 23h21m09s.78, Decl. = +33o24'01".2 (equinox 2000.0), which is 1".0 west and 2".9 north of the center of UGC 12538. Nothing was present at this location on images taken by Puckett on 2005 Sept. 10 (limiting mag about 19.3).
