Colesanti, C. Jacques, E. Pimentel, and T. Napoleao report their discovery of an apparent supernova on unfiltered CCD images taken on Jan. 11.19 (at mag 15.6) and 13.12 (mag 15.5) in the course of the BRASS survey. The new object is located at R.A. = 12h52m33s.94, Decl. = -9o46'30".8 (equinox 2000.0), which is 13" west and 5".5 north of the center of the galaxy MCG -01-33-34. Nothing is visible at this location on a CCD image taken on 2005 July 7.85 (limiting mag 19.0) and on a red Palomar Survey plate from 1956.
