Rich, Hampden, ME, reports his discovery of an apparent supernova (mag about 17.2) on unfiltered CCD frames taken with a 0.31-m reflector on Jan. 22.95 UT, with a confirming image of the object at mag 17.0 obtained on Jan. 24.09 by M. Schwartz. SN 2006O is located at R.A = 1h01m20s.71, Decl. = +31o30'09".4 (equinox 2000.0), which is about 6".4 west and 18".4 south of the center of UGC 633. Nothing is visible at this location on CCD frames taken by Rich on 2005 Nov. 19.97 and Dec. 8.99 (limiting mag about 18.6) or on Palomar Digital Sky Survey images from 1989 (limiting red mag 20.0) and 1988 (limiting blue mag 19.9).
