SUPERNOVA 2006U
     Further to IAUC 8664, N. J. Ponticello and W. Li report the LOSS
discovery of an apparent supernova (mag 18.8) on unfiltered KAIT
images taken on Feb 3.44 and 4.36 UT.  SN 2005U is located at R.A. =
9h53m45s.38, Decl. = +23o20'35".1 (equinox 2000.0), which is superimposed
on a faint galaxy.  KAIT images taken on 2005 Dec. 4.45 (limiting mag
19.6), 14.43 (limiting mag 18.9), and 2006 Jan. 5.45 (limiting mag 18.9)
showed nothing at this position.
