Li report the LOSS discovery of an apparent supernova (mag 18.8) on unfiltered KAIT images taken on Feb 3.44 and 4.36 UT. SN 2005U is located at R.A. = 9h53m45s.38, Decl. = +23o20'35".1 (equinox 2000.0), which is superimposed on a faint galaxy. KAIT images taken on 2005 Dec. 4.45 (limiting mag 19.6), 14.43 (limiting mag 18.9), and 2006 Jan. 5.45 (limiting mag 18.9) showed nothing at this position.
