Harutyunyan, S. Benetti, E. Cappellaro, and M. Turatto, Istituto Nazionale di Astrofisica, Osservatorio Astronomico di Padova, report that a spectrum of SN 2006et (cf. IAUC 8745), obtained on Sept. 12.04 UT with the Asiago 1.8-m telescope (+ AFOSC; range 345-780 nm, resolution 2.4 nm), shows it to be similar to those of the slow-declining, type-Ia supernovae (e.g., 1997br and 1995ac) around maximum light. Adopting the NED recession velocity of 6647 km/s (from Keel 1996, A.J. 111, 696) for the parent galaxy, the expansion velocity deduced from the Si II 635.5-nm minimum is about 9400 km/s. An interstellar Na I D absorption feature is visible in the host-galaxy rest frame with an equivalent width of about 6 nm, suggesting high reddening [E(B-V) > 1 mag (Turatto et al. 2003, in *From Twilight to Highlight: The Physics of Supernovae*, ed. by Hillebrandt and Leibundgut (Springer-Verlag), p. 200].
