Toth report the discovery of an apparent supernova (mag 17.8) on an image taken with a 0.50-m reflector at Ellijay, GA, on Sept. 18.38 UT (limiting mag 19.2) in the course of the Puckett Observatory Supernova Search. The new object is located at R.A. = 3h17m35s.80, Decl. = -1o41'30".2 (equinox 2000.0), which is 19".3 east and 12".1 north of the center of UGC 2650. SN 2006gj was confirmed at mag 17.7 by D. Toth with the 0.35-m TIE telescope at Las Campanas Observatory on an image taken on Sept. 19.13. Nothing is visible at this location on images taken by Puckett on 2005 Oct. 21 (limiting mag 19.3).
