Nakano forwards the following precise position for the new variable from K. Kadota (Ageo, Japan, 0.25-m f/5 reflector) from two unfiltered CCD images taken on Oct. 31.740 (star at mag 8.2) and 31.745 UT (mag 8.3): R.A. = 0h09m22s.04 +/- 0s.01; Decl. = +54d39'43".8 +/- 0".1 (equinox 2000.0). Nakano also reports that Y. Sakurai (Otsuka-cho, Mito, Ibaraki-ken, Japan; 85-mm f/1.4 Nihon lens + Fine Pix S2 Pro digital camera) obtained images of the variable on Oct. 31.451, when the star was at mag 8.2 (he provided position end figures 22s.6, 41'12"); nothing was visible at this location on Sakurai's survey images from Oct. 14 (limiting mag 11.8). E. Waagen, AAVSO, confirms that no known variable stars are catalogued at this location.
