SUPERNOVA 2006ou IN UGC 6588
     S. Blondin, M. Modjaz, R. Kirshner, and P. Challis, Harvard-Smithsonian
Center for Astrophysics, report that a spectrum (range 350-740 nm) of 2006ou
(cf. CBET 755), obtained on Nov. 26.52 UT by P. Berlind with the F. L.
Whipple Observatory 1.5-m telescope (+ FAST), shows it to be a type-Ia
supernova around one month past maximum light.  Cross-correlation with a
library of supernova spectra indicates that 2006ou is most similar to the
type-Ia supernova 1994ae at 36 days past maximum light.
