Puckett and T. Orff report the discovery of an apparent supernova (mag 16.0) on an image taken with a 0.35-m reflector at Ellijay, GA, on Jan. 2.02 UT in the course of the Puckett Observatory Supernova Search; 2007A was confirmed at mag 16.0 on an image obtained on Jan. 4.14 by J. Newton at Portal, AZ, with a 0.40-m reflector. The new object is located at R.A. = 0h25m16s.66, Decl. = +12o53'12".5 (equinox 2000.0), which is 1".2 west and 10".1 north of the center of NGC 105. Nothing is visible at this location on images taken by Puckett on 2005 Dec. 15 (limiting mag 19.1). SN 2007A was found independently at mag 16.3 by D. Madison and W. Li on unfiltered KAIT images taken in the course of the Lick Observatory Supernova Survey, who provide position end figures 16s.68, 12".7 (and offset 0".8 west and 10".8 north of the center of NGC 105). KAIT images taken on 2006 Dec. 7.15 (limiting mag 19.5) and 20.13 (limiting mag 18.3) showed nothing at this position.
