SUPERNOVA 2007an IN NGC 4017
     H. Yamaoka, Kyushu University, forwards the following prediscovery
magnitudes of 2007an by H. Kaneda (Sapporo, Hokkaido, Japan), using
unfiltered CCD images taken by K. Itagaki:  Jan. 30.648 UT, [18.0:
(estimate by Yamaoka); Feb. 19.600, 18.0; 20.829, 18.0; 24.591, 17.7;
25.516, 17.9; Mar. 7.523, 17.9; 9.539, 17.9.  These magnitudes refute
the suggestion on CBET 882 that 2007an was "probably" discovered within
a week of the explosion.
