Mostardi and W. Li report the LOSS discovery of an apparent supernova (mag 18.1) on an unfiltered KAIT image taken on Mar. 22.26 UT. The new object is located at R.A. = 9h57m24s.16, Decl. = -19o21'23".1 (equinox 2000.0), which is 3".3 east and 5".2 south of the center of NGC 3072.
