Stubbings (Drouin, Victoria, Australia) has found the cataclysmic variable GW Lib to be in outburst, and it has been very rapidly brightening (as indicated by the magnitude estimates below). E. O. Waagen, AAVSO, adds that there are no known observations of any outburst of GW Lib since its discovery on 1983 Aug. 10 (cf. IAUC 3854). Visual magnitude estimates for this apparent WZ Sge-type variable, mostly submitted by Waagen: Apr. 11.127 UT, [12.0 (P. Schmeer, Bischmisheim, Germany); 12.126, [12.0 (Schmeer); 12.494, 13.8 (Stubbings); 12.542, 13.7 (Stubbings); 12.566, 13.4 (Stubbings); 12.569, 14.0 (A. Pearce, Nedlands, W. Australia); 12.578, 13.0 (Stubbings); 12.595, 12.9 (Stubbings); 12.607, 12.4 (Stubbings); 12.617, 13.2 (Pearce); 12.619, 12.3 (Stubbings); 12.628, 12.1 (Stubbings); 12.646, 12.0 (Stubbings); 12.659, 11.8 (Stubbings); 12.853, 9.9 (Pearce).
