Baltay, A. Bauer, N. Ellman, D. Herrera, D. Rabinowitz, and R. Scalzo, Yale University) reports the discovery of twelve new supernovae in images obtained during Mar. 26-Apr. 22 UT with the QUEST-II camera on the Palomar Oschin 1.2-m Schmidt telescope, operated by the Palomar-QUEST Consortium (cf. CBETs 263, 768, 929). Discovery positions and R-band magnitudes tabulated below were derived from reductions with the USNO-A2.0 catalogue. A subsequent spectrum of each target (range 320-1000 nm), obtained with the SuperNova Integral Field Spectrograph (SNIFS) on the University of Hawaii 2.2-m telescope, was used for classification, and redshifts (z) are also listed below. SN 2007bp appears close to the galaxy MCG +01-24-19. SN 2007bz, which is located in IC 3918 (redshift 0.022, Van Driel et al. 2000, A.Ap. Suppl. 144, 463; via NED) was not present to mag 20.5 on images from Apr. 4.5 UT, and it was confirmed on an image obtained on Apr. 23.5 with the SNIFS.
