Winslow and W. Li report the discovery of an apparent supernova (mag 15.9) on unfiltered KAIT images taken on June 24.49 and 26.43 UT. The new object is located at R.A. = 23h49m39s.00, Decl. = +29o55'52".1 (equinox 2000.0), which is 12".4 west and 2".5 south of the nucleus of UGC 12798. A KAIT image taken on Jan. 8.09 showed nothing at this location (limiting mag 18.5).
