Winslow and W. Li report the discovery of an apparent supernova on unfiltered KAIT images taken on July 15.44 (at mag 15.4) and 16.42 UT (mag 15.3). The new object is located at R.A. = 22h01m40s.44, Decl. = -21o30'29".6 (equinox 2000.0), which is 2".5 west and 12".4 north of the nucleus of ESO 601-G5. A KAIT image taken on June 26.49 showed nothing at this location (limiting mag 18.2).
