Electronic Telegram No. 1075 Central Bureau for Astronomical Telegrams INTERNATIONAL ASTRONOMICAL UNION M.S. 18, Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory, Cambridge, MA 02138, U.S.A. Ganeshalingam, and A. V. Filippenko, University of California, Berkeley, report that inspection of CCD spectra (range 330-1030 nm), obtained on Sept. 19 UT with the Shane 3-m reflector (+ Kast spectrograph) at Lick Observatory, shows that 2007is (CBET 1067) is a normal type-Ia supernova near maximum brightness. Removing the host-galaxy recession velocity of 8897 km/s (from the Sloan Digital Sky Survey Data Release 1), the minimum of the Si II 635.5-nm absorption feature is found to be blueshifted by about 11600 km/s.
