Schleicher, Lowell Observatory, writes that he obtained narrowband photometry of comet 8P on Nov. 1 (r = 1.63 AU) using the Hall 1.1-m telescope at Lowell Observatory, resulting in the following production rates: log Q(OH) = 27.56; equivalent log Q(water; vectorial) = 27.59; log Q(NH) = 25.09; log Q(CN) = 24.82; log Q(C_2) = 24.99; log Q(C_3) = 24.52; log [Af(rho)] (526 nm) = 1.14 (cf. IAUC 7342). The resulting abundance ratios confirm that 8P/Tuttle has "typical" composition and a very low dust-to-gas ratio, consistent with the results from its 1980 apparition (A'Hearn et al. 1995, Icarus 118, 223).
