Sostero report the discovery of an apparent supernova (mag 18.4) on CCD images (limiting mag 19.1) taken with a 0.35-m reflector at Ellijay, GA, U.S.A., on Jan. 12.14 UT in the course of the Puckett Observatory Supernova Search. The new object was confirmed at mag 18.3 on a 120-s co-added image (limiting mag 19.5) by T. Orff and J. Newton on Jan. 13.20 with 0.40-m reflector at Portal, AZ, U.S.A. SN 2008F is located at R.A. = 2h54m55s.11, Decl. = -6o21'56".7 (equinox 2000.0), which is 15".4 east and 27".0 north of the center of MCG -01-8-15. Nothing is visible at this position on images taken by Puckett on 2007 Nov. 9 (limiting mag 19.6).
