IAUC 7373), reports his discovery of an apparent supernova (mag about 17.5) on two unfiltered CCD images (limiting magnitude about 18.5) taken on Jan. 23.88 UT with the 0.5-m "Ullrich" telescope of the Col Drusci Observatory; confirming images from Jan. 24.85 show 2008P at mag 16.1. The new object is located at R.A. = 8h28m39s.18, Decl. = +73o45'02".9 (equinox 2000.0), which is about 3" west and 10" north of the nucleus of the galaxy NGC 2550A (cf. Sulentic and Tifft 1973, *The Revised New General Catalogue*, p. 116). Nothing is visible at this position on a CROSS image taken on 2007 Dec. 17 (limiting mag about 19.0) or on Palomar Sky Survey infrared, red, and blue plates.
