Sostero, Remanzacco, Italy; and T. Puckett, Ellijay, GA, U.S.A., report the discovery of an apparent supernova (mag 17.8) on CCD images (limiting mag 19.6) taken with a 0.60-m reflector at Ellijay on Feb. 9.21 UT in the course of the Puckett Observatory Supernova Search. The new object is located at R.A. = 9h56m03s.20, Decl. = +10o29'58".8 (equinox 2000.0), which is 12".0 west and 3".0 north of the center of IC 577. Nothing is visible at this location on images taken by Puckett on Jan. 14 (limiting mag 19.4). Confirming (stacked) images (limiting mag 19.5) were obtained on Feb. 9.89 by G. Sostero and T. Orff with a 0.45-m reflector at Remanzacco, showing 2008ae at mag 17.8.
