Boles, Coddenham, England, reports the discovery of an apparent supernova (mag 17.1) on unfiltered CCD images taken on Feb. 9.173 and 10.026 UT with a 0.35-m reflector. The new object is located at R.A. = 14h59m28s.50, Decl. = +16o39'12".3 (equinox 2000.0; average of two CCD frames), which is approximately 12".4 east and 29".6 north of the center of UGC 9640. Nothing is present at this position on Boles' images from 2007 Apr. 10 and 2006 June 29 (limiting mag 19.5) or on Digitized Sky Survey plates from 1991 May 15 (limiting red mag 20.5) and 1993 Mar. 23 (limiting blue mag 21.0).
