Monard, Pretoria, South Africa, reports his discovery of an apparent supernova on CCD images taken on Feb. 3.115 (mag about 16.7 +/- 0.4) and 11.088 UT (mag 16.9 +/- 0.2) at the Bronberg Observatory near Pretoria. The new object is located at R.A. = 18h39m52s.38, Decl. = -67o25'59".0 (equinox 2000.0), which is 22" west and 26" south of the nucleus of the Sc-type galaxy IC 4729. Nothing is visible at this position on the Digitized Sky Survey (limiting red mag 20.5) or on an image taken on 2007 Nov. 3.9 by Monard (limiting red mag 18.5).
