Morrell, on the behalf of the Millennium Center for Supernova Studies and the Carnegie Supernova Project, report that they have obtained a spectrum (range 400-940 nm) of 2008ah (cf. CBET 1255) with the European Southern Observatory's New Technology Telescope (+ EMMI) on Feb. 14.2 UT, showing 2008ah to be a type-Ia supernova a few days past maximum light. With aid from the "Supernova Identification" code (SNID; Blondin and Tonry 2007, Ap.J. 666, 1024), 2008ah is found to be most similar to supernova 1989B at four days past maximum light. Adopting a host-galaxy recession velocity of 20519 km/s (SDSS data release 2; Abazajian et al. 2004, A.J. 128, 302) for the host galaxy, an expansion velocity of 10800 km/s is measured from the Si II 615-nm line.
