E. Thornton, University of California, Irvine; and R. Chornock and A. V. Filippenko, University of California, Berkeley, report that inspection of CCD spectra (range 330-1050 nm), obtained on Mar. 26.2 UT with the Shane 3-m telescope at Lick Observatory, reveals that 2008bh (CBET 1311) is a supernova of type II. Several weak, broad spectral features are present on top of a relatively featureless continuum including H-alpha, which appears mostly in emission. The expansion velocity of the absorption minimum of H-beta is approximately 11000 km/s.
