Folatelli, on behalf of the Millenium Center for Supernova Studies and Carnegie Supernova Project collaboration, reports on a spectroscopic observation (range 348-941 nm) of 2008cc (cf. CBET 1356) that was obtained on Apr. 26.32 UT with the Magellan II Clay telescope (+ LDSS3) at Las Campanas Observatory. The spectrum shows that 2008cc is a normal type-Ia supernova at about ten days after maximum light. The "Supernova Identification" code (SNID; Blondin and Tonry 2007, Ap.J. 666, 1024) shows that the spectrum of 2008cc is most similar to that of SN 1992A at 9 days after maximum light. Adopting the NED recession velocity of 3116 km/s (Longhetti et al. 1998, A.Ap. Suppl. 130, 267) for the host galaxy (ESO 107-G4), an expansion velocity of about 11000 km/s is derived from the absorption minimum of the Si II 635.5-nm line.
