Monard, Pretoria, South Africa, reports his discovery of an apparent supernova located at R.A. = 11h49m48s.86, Decl. = -38o47'02".1 (equinox 2000.0), which is 18" west and 3" north of the core of the galaxy ESO 320-26. Nothing is visible at this position on Digital Sky Survey images (limiting red mag 20.5). Magnitude estimates (+/- 0.2 mag generally) of 2008dp by Monard from his unfiltered CCD images: May 29.726 UT, [18.5; June 25.701, 17.3; 26.706, 17.2; 27.705, 17.0.
