Mazzoni, Borgo a Mozzano, Italy, report their discovery of an apparent supernova (mag 17.6) on unfiltered CCD images (limiting magnitude 18.8) taken on July 23.11, 24.06, and 24.92-24.98 UT with a 0.51-m reflector. The new object is located at R.A. = 22h17m33s.25, Decl. = +33o15'21".3 (equinox 2000.0), which is 3" south and 5" west of the nucleus of the galaxy PGC 68507. Nothing is visible at this position on earlier CCD images of the same field taken on 2007 Sept. 8 (limiting magnitude 19.2) or on Palomar Sky Survey plates from 1986 Sept. 30 (limiting red mag 20.5), 1989 Sept. 7 (limiting blue mag 20.2) and 1995 Sept. 14 (limiting near-infrared mag 19.5).
