Woodward, University of Minnesota; and K. Vanlandingham and G. J. Schwarz, West Chester University, report on Boller-and-Chivens spectroscopic observations (range 360.0-900.0 nm; resolution about 0.28 nm) of V2671 Oph (cf. IAUC 8950) obtained at the Steward Observatory Bok 2.29-m telescope on June 27.25 UT. The spectra show strong emission from H_alpha (FWHM = 1210 km/s) and H_beta (FWHM = 1190 km/s). The strongest non-Balmer transition arises from [O I] 630.0-nm (FWHM = 1010 km/s), implying that the nova is at phase A_o in the Cerro Tololo nova-classification system (Williams et al. 1994, ApJS, 90, 297; Williams et al. 1991, ApJ, 376, 721). [O I] is also detected at 557.7 and 636.4 nm with FWHM velocities of 900 and 1140 km/s, respectively. The presence of Fe II multiplets 27, 42, 46, 48, and 49 confirms that this is a "Fe II"-type nova (cf. IAUC 8951, 8957).
