Rich, Hampden, ME, U.S.A., reports his discovery of an apparent supernova (mag about 17.6) on unfiltered CCD frames taken with a 0.41-m reflector on Aug. 10.13 UT, with a confirming image (limiting mag about 18.5) obtained on Aug. 12.07 by P. Burke, Pittsfield, ME, U.S.A., with a 0.31-m reflector that shows 2008ev at mag about 17.4. The new object is located at R.A. = 16h03m02s.09, Decl. = +39o38'44".2 (equinox 2000.0), which is about 5".9 east and 1".9 north of the center of UGC 10155. Nothing is visible at this location on a CCD frame taken by Rich on July 6.21 (limiting mag about 18.8) or on Palomar Digital Sky Survey images from 1991 Apr. 9 (limiting red mag about 20.5) and 1998 May 14 (limiting blue mag about 21.0).
