The new object is located at R.A. = 3h42m36s.69, Decl. = +71o18'36".5 (equinox 2000.0), which is 13".5 east and 9".0 north of the center of UGC 2813. Nothing is visible at this position on a Palomar Sky Survey F plate (via the Digitized Sky Survey; limiting red mag 20.8). J. Kajava, Oulo University; together with J. Fynbo, D. Della Monica Ferreira, M. Michalowski, T. Zafar, and J. Sollerman, Dark Cosmology Center, Niels Bohr Institute, report on spectroscopy of 2008fb obtained with the Nordic Optical Telescope (+ ALFOSC; range 350-900 nm, resolution 0.8 nm) on Aug. 26.25 UT. The fully reduced spectrum of 2008fb shows it to be a normal type-II supernova several weeks past maximum.
