Nysewander, and A. LaCluyze, University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, on behalf of the CHASE project, report the discovery of an apparent supernova (mag approximately 15.8) on a unfiltered image taken on Aug. 27.14 UT with the 0.41-m "PROMPT 3" telescope located at Cerro Tololo. The new object is located at R.A. = 21h58m09s.22 +/- 0".1, Decl. = -27o23'17".1 +/- 0".1 (equinox 2000.0), which is about 16".4 west and 14".4 north of the center of the galaxy ESO 466-G24. Additional approximate "PROMPT 3" magnitudes for 2008fd: July 16.13, [18.5; Aug. 1.10, [18.5; 28.01, 15.7 +/- 0.3.
