Mikuz, Crni Vrh Observatory, report the discovery by Jure Zakrajsek of an apparent supernova (mag 16.7) on four unfiltered images (bandpass roughly equivalent to the R band) taken between Aug. 26.977 and 27.006 UT with the 60-cm f/3.3 Cichocki reflector in the course of the Comet and Asteroid Search Program (PIKA) at Crni Vrh Observatory. The new object is located at R.A = 1h53m23s.17, Decl. = +29d21'28".4 (equinox 2000.0; uncertainty about 0".2), which is approximately 2" east and 2" south of the center of a nearby faint galaxy that is clearly visible only on Palomar Sky Survey (DSS) images: a faint featureless nebulosity can be seen around these coordinates both on red and blue Digitized Sky Survey images (but no star is visible there). Nothing is visible at this location on archival PIKA images obtained on 2003 Sept. 26, 2007 July 19, and 2008 Aug. 2 (limiting magnitude 18.5-19.0). Additional photometry of 2008fi obtained with the 60-cm Cichocki reflector: 2008 Aug. 29.01, R = 17.47 +/- 0.02, V = 17.53 +/- 0.03; Sept. 2.91, R = 17.55 +/- 0.1; V = 17.80 +/- 0.1.
