B. Cenko, W. Li, and A. V. Filippenko, University of California, report the LOSS discovery of an apparent supernova on unfiltered KAIT images: SN 2008 UT R.A. (2000.0) Decl. Mag. Offset 2008hx Dec. 3.53 10 13 00.82 +17 02 09.3 18.7 6".9 W, 6".3 N Additional KAIT magnitudes for 2008hx in NGC 3154: a combined image from Apr. 2 to May 17 UT, [20.1; Dec. 4.50, 18.9. Li et al. also report the following KAIT magnitudes for SN 2008hj (cf. CBETs 1579, 1583, 1585): Oct. 25.22, [19.2; Nov. 17.22, 19.2 (limiting mag 19.8); Dec. 3.19, 17.1. Their measured position for 2008hj is R.A. = 10h13m00s.82, Decl. = +17o02'09".3 (equinox 2000.0), which is 6".9 west and 6".3 north of the center of MCG -02-1-14. J. M. Silverman, F. J. D. Serduke, X. Wang, and A. V. Filippenko, University of California, Berkeley, report that inspection of CCD spectra (range 330-1000 nm), obtained on Dec. 5 UT with the 3-m Shane reflector (+ Kast) at Lick Observatory, shows that 2008hn (CBET 1586) is a normal type-Ic supernova. Cross-correlation with a library of supernovae spectra using the "SuperNova IDentification" code (SNID; Blondin and Tonry 2007, Ap.J. 666, 1024) indicates that it is about 10 days past maximum brightness. SN 2008hq (CBET 1593) is a normal type-Ia supernova. SNID indicates that 2008hq is about 8 days past maximum and most similar to the normal type-Ia supernova 1995E at 7 days past maximum; after removal of a recession velocity of 19600 km/s, determined from narrow emission lines in a spectrum of the host galaxy (UGC 3963), the absorption minimum of the line Si II 635.5-nm feature is found to be blueshifted by about 10900 km/s. SN 2008hr (CBET 1595) is a normal type-Ia supernova; SNID indicates that it is at maximum, at a recession velocity of about 24000 km/s, and most similar to the normal type-Ia supernova 1992A at maximum. SN 2008ht (CBET 1600) is a normal type-Ib supernova; SNID indicates that it is about 10 days past maximum. SN 2008hu (CBET 1600) is a normal type-Ia supernova; SNID indicates that it is at maximum, at a recession velocity of about 12000 km/s, and most similar to the normal type-Ia supernova 1991M at three days past maximum. SN 2008hx (see above) is a type-II supernova. SNID indicates that 2008hx is about two months past maximum and most similar to the normal type-IIP supernova 2006bp at 65 days past maximum; after removal of the host-galaxy recession velocity of 6300 km/s, determined from narrow emission lines, the absorption minimum of the H-alpha line is found to be blueshifted by about 6000 km/s.
