Rich, Hampden, ME, U.S.A., reports his discovery of an apparent supernova (mag about 16.6) on unfiltered CCD frames taken with a 0.41-m reflector on June 17.17 UT, with a confirming image obtained on June 18.07 that shows 2009gh at mag about 16.3. The new object is located at R.A. = 19h29m16s.60, Decl. = +72o08'12".9 (equinox 2000.0), which is about 1".4 west and 9".1 south of the center of MCG +12-18-2. Nothing is visible at this position on a CCD frame taken by Rich on May 21.19 (limiting mag about 18.8) or on Palomar Digital Sky Survey images from 1991 Aug. 7 (limiting red mag about 20.5) and 1991 June 16 (limiting blue mag about 21.0).
