Africa, reports the discovery of an apparent supernova (mag 16.6) on unfiltered CCD images obtained on Aug. 11.760 and 12.720 UT. The new object is located at R.A. = 19h16m34s.25, Decl. = -46d41'20".3 (equinox 2000.0; UCAC2 catalogue reference stars), which is 11" west and 8" north of the apparent host galaxy's core. Nothing is visible at this position on Digitized Sky Survey images (limiting red mag 20.5) or on Monard's latest image taken on May 25.037 (limiting mag 18.8).
