SUPERNOVA 2009gu IN ESO 68-12
     M. Stritzinger, Las Campanas Observatory; and G. Folatelli, Universidad
de Chile, on behalf of the Carnegie Supernova Project and the Millennium
Center for Supernova Science, report that they obtained an optical spectrogram
of supernova 2009gu (cf. CBET 1863) on Sept. 18.1 UT with the Gemini South
telescope (+ GMOS).  The spectrum reveals that this is a normal type-Ia
supernova around 2 months past peak brightness.
