Hornoch, Astronomical Institute, Ondrejov, Czech Republic; and O. Pejcha, Department of Astronomy, Ohio State University, report on their low-resolution optical spectroscopy (range 380-720 nm, resolution 0.7 nm) and optical photometry of M31N 2009-11a (cf. CBET 2003). Spectra were obtained using the Boller & Chivens CCD Spectrograph on the 2.4-m Hiltner telescope at MDM Observatory. The spectrum of M31N 2009-11a obtained by Pejcha on Nov. 25.32 UT (21.8 days after its first optical detection made by Nishiyama and Kabashima) shows H-alpha, H-beta, H-gamma, and Fe II emission lines, confirming this object as a "Fe II"-class nova. The HWZI of H-alpha was about 1500 km/s. Magnitude measurements were obtained from images taken with RETROCAM on the 2.4-m Hiltner telescope (+ Sloan filters) and with the 0.65-m telescope (+ G2CCD-3200) at Ondrejov. Magnitudes for 2009-11a: Nov. 4.963, R = 17.6 +/- 0.1 (Hornoch, 0.65-m telescope); 5.721, R = 17.74 +/- 0.05 (Hornoch and M. Wolf, 0.65-m telescope); 13.064, R = 18.4 +/- 0.25 (Hornoch); 25.303, r' = 19.71 +/- 0.08 (Pejcha and Hornoch, 2.4-m telescope); 25.306, g' = 20.35 +/- 0.07 (Pejcha and Hornoch, 2.4-m telescope); 27.034, R = 19.4 +/- 0.3 (Hornoch and Wolf). Hornoch also reports position end figures 04s.78, 07".6 for M31N 2009-11a.
