Puckett report the discovery of an apparent supernova (mag 15.3) on unfiltered CCD images (limiting mag 18.6) taken with a 0.40-m reflector at Portal, AZ, U.S.A., on Dec. 26.43 UT in the course of the Puckett Observatory Supernova Search. The new object, which was confirmed at mag 15.5 on images (limiting mag 19.2) taken by Puckett on Dec. 27.40 with a 0.60-m reflector at Ellijay, GA, is located at R.A. = 10h47m01s.42, Decl. = +26o32'38".1 (equinox 2000.0), which is 15".8 west and 2".7 north of the center of UGC 5884. Nothing is visible at this position on images taken by Puckett on Dec. 19 (limiting mag 18.8).
