Electronic Telegram No. 2259 Central Bureau for Astronomical Telegrams INTERNATIONAL ASTRONOMICAL UNION CBAT Director: Daniel W. E. Catelan, Pontificia Universidad Catolica de Chile; A. J. Drake, S. G. Djorgovski, A. Mahabal, M. J. Graham, and R. Williams, California Institute of Technology; J. L. Prieto, Carnegie Observatories; E. C. Beshore and S. M. Larson, Lunar and Planetary Laboratory, University of Arizona; and E. Christensen, Gemini Observatory, report that inspection of a CCD spectrogram (range 370-920 nm), obtained on Apr. 21 UT with the SMARTS 1.5-m telescope (+ RCSpec) at Cerro Tololo, shows that 2010ce (cf. CBET 2258) is a normal type-Ia supernova. Cross-correlation with a library of supernova spectra using the "SuperNova IDentification" code (SNID; Blondin and Tonry 2007, Ap.J. 666, 1024) indicates that 2010ce is a week past maximum brightness and is at a redshift of 0.06.
