Newton and T. Puckett report the discovery of an apparent supernova (mag 17.6) on unfiltered CCD images (limiting mag 19.2) taken with a 0.40-m reflector at Portal, AZ, U.S.A., on Sept. 2.44 UT in the course of the Puckett Observatory Supernova Search. The new object, which was confirmed on Sept. 3.44 at mag 17.6 on images (limiting mag 19.1) taken by Puckett with the 0.40-m reflector at Portal, is located at R.A. = 3h37m52s.61, Decl. = +4o56'52".2 (equinox 2000.0), which is 26".4 east and 3".9 south of the center of UGC 2802.
