Electronic Telegram No. 2604 Central Bureau for Astronomical Telegrams INTERNATIONAL ASTRONOMICAL UNION CBAT Director: Daniel W. E. Green; Hoffman Lab 209; Harvard University; 20 Oxford St.; Cambridge, MA 02138; U.S.A. e-mail: cbatiau@eps.harvard.edu (alternate cbat@iau.org) URL http://www.cbat.eps.harvard.edu/index.html Prepared using the Tamkin Foundation Computer Network SUPERNOVA 2010lm Further to CBET 2603, and on behalf of the "Palomar Transient Factory" group (http://www.astro.caltech.edu/ptf/), J. Parrent, D. A. Howell, Richard Ellis, Avishay Gal-Yam, and P. E. Nugent write that a CCD spectrum (range 350-950 nm), taken on the Gemini South telescope on Dec. 24 UT, reveals that 2010lm is a type-Ia supernova before maximum light, near -7 days. They determined z = 0.054 from the host-galaxy's H-alpha and O II 500.7-nm and from fits to the supernova features.
