Electronic Telegram No. 2620 Central Bureau for Astronomical Telegrams INTERNATIONAL ASTRONOMICAL UNION CBAT Director: Daniel W. E. Green; Hoffman Lab 209; Harvard University; 20 Oxford St.; Cambridge, MA 02138; U.S.A. e-mail: cbatiau@eps.harvard.edu (alternate cbat@iau.org) URL http://www.cbat.eps.harvard.edu/index.html Prepared using the Tamkin Foundation Computer Network SUPERNOVA 2010lr J. L. Prieto, Carnegie Observatories, reports that a spectrum (range 380-920 nm; resolution 0.8 nm) of 2010lr (cf. CBET 2614), obtained on Dec. 31.1 UT with WFCCD mounted on the du Pont 2.5-m telescope at Las Campanas Observatory, shows it to be a normal type-Ia supernova. Cross-correlation with a library of supernova spectra using SNID (Blondin and Tonry 2007, Ap.J. 666, 1024) shows that that 2010lr is most similar to SN 1998bu at 11 days after maximum light. After correcting for the recession velocity of its host galaxy, 2MASX J00023401-3044061, (+18634 km/s; from the 6dF Galaxy Survey), a blueshift of the Si II (rest 635.5 nm) line is measured to be 10400 km/s.
