Electronic Telegram No. 2663 Central Bureau for Astronomical Telegrams INTERNATIONAL ASTRONOMICAL UNION CBAT Director: Daniel W. E. Green; Hoffman Lab 209; Harvard University; 20 Oxford St.; Cambridge, MA 02138; U.S.A. e-mail: cbatiau@eps.harvard.edu (alternate cbat@iau.org) URL http://www.cbat.eps.harvard.edu/index.html Prepared using the Tamkin Foundation Computer Network SUPERNOVA 2010lv G. Folatelli, University of Tokyo; G. Pignata, Universidad Andres Bello; and J. Anderson and F. Forster, Universidad de Chile, on behalf of the Millennium Center for Supernova Science, report that they have obtained a spectrum (range 450-800 nm) of 2010lv (cf. CBET 2622) on Feb. 28.16 UT with the SOAR telescope (+ Goodman HTS). The spectrum indicates that 2010lv is a type-Ia supernova between one and two months after maximum light; comparison with template spectra using the "Supernova Identification" code (SNID; Blondin and Tonry 2007, Ap.J. 666, 1024) provides good matches to those of SNe 1986G, 1989B, 2004S, and 1994D at ages between +32 and +50 days. Given that the discovery of this supernova occurred on 2010 Dec. 31, the actual age should be greater than +45 days. Additionally, SNID provides an estimated redshift of 0.07 for SN 2010lv.
