Madison and W. Li report the LOSS discovery of an apparent supernova on unfiltered KAIT images taken on Aug. 29.51 (at mag 18.5) and 31.49 UT (mag 18.6). SN 2005dr is located at R.A. = 5h02m17s.18, Decl. = +7o38'21".4 (equinox 2000.0), which is 12".0 west and 12".0 north of the nucleus of UGC 3229. A KAIT image taken on 2004 Mar. 8.18 showed nothing at this position (limiting mag about 19.5).
