SUPERNOVA 2005iq IN MCG -03-1-8
     A. V. Filippenko and R. J. Foley, University of California,
Berkeley, report that inspection of a CCD spectrum (range 490-1000 nm),
obtained on Nov. 7 UT with the Keck II 10-m telescope (+ DEIMOS),
shows that SN 2005iq (cf. IAUC 8628) is of type Ia, probably within a
few days of maximum brightness.
