Gagliano report the discovery of an apparent supernova (mag 17.8) on an unfiltered CCD frame taken with the Puckett Observatory 0.60-m automated supernova patrol telescope in Ellijay, GA, on Dec. 24.07 UT (and confirmed at mag 17.7 by J. Newton, Portal, AZ on frames taken on Dec. 25.11 with a 0.35-m reflector). SN 2005lz is located at R.A. = 2h10m49s.76, Decl. = +34o58'58".2 (equinox 2000.0), which is 13".8 east and 6".3 south of the center of UGC 1666. Nothing was present at this location on images taken by Puckett on numerous dates from 1999 to 2005 (limiting mag ranging from 18.4 to 20.1). Puckett also reports the discovery with T. Orff of an apparent supernova (mag 17.9) on an unfiltered CCD frame taken with the patrol telescope on Dec. 24.21 UT (and confirmed at mag 17.3 by Newton on frames taken on Dec. 25.20). SN 2005ma is located at R.A. = 4h49m53s.91, Decl. = -10o45'23".4 (equinox 2000.0), which is 1".9 west and 7".2 south of the center of MCG -2-13-13. Nothing was present at this location on images taken by Puckett on numerous dates from 2000 to 2005 (limiting mag ranging from 18.0 to 20.0).
